From Monday to Friday on the Spit there is the endless stream of trucks dumping their loads. On weekends the park opens to a parade of birders, boaters, bikers, runners, skaters, walkers, boarders, foot scooters and pretty well most forms of self propulsion. No motorized vehicles are allowed except for an aging van that shuttles passengers for free to the halfway mark on the peninsula.
