Good Morning From Gothenburg, Sweden
I'm in Gothenburg, Sweden for a few days visiting Sarah's old haunts. The city is remarkable for a host of reasons least of all its transportation system. If there is one city in the world Toronto might want to emulate it is this one. The combination of tramways, buses, and dedicated bicycle paths inspires the imagination of any car-bound North American (Of course, it also makes us weep in frustration - but let's try to remain positive). Was this one of the cities Mayor Miller visited in his famous tour of Europe? Have our transportation engineers been here?

Think of it: a northern city where there are hundreds of kilometres of bike paths many with their own traffic signals. Modern trams run along grassy boulevards. Cars are part of the mix too, but they don't dominate every aspect of life the way they do in Canada.

I'll be posting some images tomorrow once we have the wireless connection figured out. Right now I'm hammering away on a '97 vintage HP keyboard in the hotel lobby. Quaint.
