Next week on Canada Day the Toronto Star will announce its selection of the top ten Canadian achievements in Children's Entertainment, Theatre, Movies, Music, Visual Arts, Design, Books, Architecture, and Television. The ten winners will be chosen by industry experts: Children's Entertainment — Kids' entertainer Fred Penner; Degrassi star Miriam McDonald; Eleanor LaFave, owner of Mabel's Fables bookstore; and family issues reporter Andrea Gordon. Theatre — Playwright/director Djanet Sears, Soulpepper founder Albert Schultz; Elizabeth Bradley, head of drama at Carnegie Mellon University; theatre critic Richard Ouzounian. Movies — Actress/director Sarah Polley, Toronto film festival director Piers Handling, film scholar Peter Harcourt, movie critic Geoff Pevere.
